Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a an original STEREO 1st pressing of the Beatles LP 'A Hard Day's Night' on the UK Parlophone label. This pressing has the original 'chubby' typeset on the labels, indicating a 1st press.

Back in 1964 the stereo format was still very much the underdog. Stereo discs cost more than their mono counterparts and stereophonic record players were still priced up to the point of being a highly expensive luxury. Because of this, the original stereo presses sold in far, far fewer numbers than the mono presses. Only a tiny percentage of the original chubby typeset 1st presses were stereo and, today, are extremely rare and highly collectible!

Not in top condition, but still looks nice and would make a perfect collection filler!

The Cover : G

The cover is holding up okay but is definitely showing its age. The front has creamed a little and has a fair amount of creases and light wear around the edges and corners. The bottom seam has split about an inch or so in the middle but the top seam is holding (although it does have some creases running through it). The spine is a little worn with many creases running through it but hasn't split. The text in the middle is mostly legible but has a spot of wear over it. The back has yellowed quite noticeable and has some dirt buildup down the mouthedge. There's some light stainings in a few places and some creases and wear. Like I said, holding up but definitely showing its age.   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) :G++

The playing surface still retains most of its shine and has a fair amount of light, faint scuffs along wirth some slightly heavier looking scuffs and marks. There's a small, light scratch on side 2 that goes through track 6 at the 1 o'clock position that I can just about feel under my fingernail.

The labels are clean but do have some wear as you can see in the photos above. There's a fair amount of spindlewear and some whitening around the centrehole.
