Description
Here is an LP that really changed the world of pop culture! It was the Beatles 9th LP that was released on June 1, 1967 (which came to be known as “The Summer of Love”). This LP reached Number 1 on all of the charts and stayed at Number 1 for 24 weeks!

It is PARLOPHONE RECORDS PMC 7027.

It is the ORIGINAL FIRST UK MONO PRESSING with the Parlophone yellow and black labels.

This LP was released June 1, 1967.

It is an ORIGINAL MONO (monaural) PRESSING.

The labels have the statement “SOLD IN THE U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS”.

The trail-off for SIDE 1 has Matrix Numbers XEX 637-1,and the trail-off for SIDE 2 has Matrix Numbers XEX 638-1. These matrix numbers identify the vinyl as a FIRST PRESSING.

There are NO BANDS between the songs.

The LABELS have only a few VERY LIGHT spindle trails, evident when angled to the light which suggests that this LP hasn’t had much play over the years. There is also virtually no spindle-hole wear on either label.

This GATEFOLD LP comes with the VINYL and its ORIGINAL INNER SLEEVE. It has its ORIGINAL “FOOLS” WHITE, PINK & RED INNER SLEEVE with “MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN” and “PATENTS APPLIED FOR” are printed in a lower corner. This inner sleeve is in VG+ Condition with small folds/creases at the bottom and a light horizontal fold/crease.

Unfortunately, it does NOT have its ORIGINAL DARK GREEN INSERT OF CUT-OUTS.

The COVER is in GOOD MINUS CONDITION. It has this low grade primarily because it has heavy wear, especially on the spine which is “bald” with a 2-inch split, and because of a tear with paper loss on the right side of the front cover. The laminated cover has numerous creases especially along the spine and edges. There is heavy wear on the corners as well. The U.K. Record Store sticker is inside the gatefold cover. The cover looks like it is the “thin spine” version, but it’s hard to tell due to the wear on the spine and the flattening of the cover.

The VINYL is in VG to VG MINUS CONDITION with numerous light surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feel-able”). As mentioned before, the VINYL IS NOT BANDED.
Here is an INCREDIBLY HARD-TO-FIND ORIGINAL CLASSIC LP that deserves a place in EVERY serious Beatles collector’s record collection. Even though the LP has a lower grading, IT’S STILL A TRUE HISTORIC RARITY!
