THE BEATLES - REVOLVER - PARLOPHONE PMC 7009 - 1966 UK RELEASE
THIS IS A FIRST DAY PRESSING.
IT HAS THE XEX 606-1 STAMPING ON SIDE 2 AND MOTHER STAMPER OF "1" AND "GG" side one and "1" AND "GP" side two ( Parlophone used GRAMOPHLTD as a code for the stamper letters on the 3 o'clock position G=1st copy from the mother R=2nd copy from the mother etc , therefore G is first from the mother D = last from the mother away from 1st pressing, in theory). The 9 o'clock number is the mother , with 1 indicating the first mother press...I assume GG = 11 and GP = 16
All copies with the XEX 606-1 contain the rare mono mix (RM11) of the groundbreaking track "Tomorrow Never Knows" which was included only on a select few 1st pressings. This came about as a result of George Martin making a last second call on July 14th 1966 to replace the track with RM8. However some pressings were made with the RM11 mix.This mix is considerably different in content and mix.Most copies have the matrix 606-2 or 606-3 on side 2 with the RM8 mix.
Now down to this copy....
VINYL-I have play tested and the sound is stunning. Minimal static background noise in between tracks.The track above with the louder vocals (much clearer over the effects than the RM8 version ) is outstanding. The grading for sound is EX. Visually there is surface scuffing which do not affect play. Sound quality throughout is excellent with NO SKIPS or JUMPS. This item has a bright , clean shine. The stampers are discussed above with the important side 2 having the XEX606-1 on the lead out with the mother stamper "1" (9 o'clock) and GP (3 o'clock)
LABELS - Very clean , few spindle marks , no tearing, writing or sticker marks . Yellow "PARLOPHONE" with the "sold in....." . Has the track DR. ROBERT as just typed (changed to DOCTOR ROBERT for a production run and then back again for a later run ). "KT " embosed and GRAM.....in capitals ,
INNER SLEEVE - This is a diecut EMITEX poly lined with "Patent applied for".The guy I got this from swears it is the original inner, all others I have seen have not been die cut.. This is the poly lined die cut and is in Excellent condition.
COVER- Exceptionally clean , small mono text on front cover top right , Laminated flipback on three sides onto card rear.This is the rarer Ernest J Day & Co. Ltd. sleeve . Laminate all in place , Spine fully formed , text clear on the spine. Opening still crisp. slight discolouration on spine does not effect the spine text, rear card very clean
Outstanding package, not played for over 34 years until I cleaned and play tested....kept in poly sleeve in a non smoking house, dry storage area....

Very rare Beatles vinyl in excellent audio condition, sounds stunning , very crisp in Mono....
