Description
THE BEATLES – RUBBER SOUL
UK MONO LP • PMC 1267 • 1968 PARLOPHONE PRESSING • HAZEL YARWOOD CUT
A very appealing UK mono copy of The Beatles’ Rubber Soul on the classic black/yellow Parlophone label.
This is not a later budget reissue. It carries the desirable “Sold in U.K.” label text, KT tax code, and the recognised 1968 second press label variation C layout. Even better, the runouts show the Hazel Yarwood -5/-5 cut, with notably early mother/stamper details:
Side 1: XEX 579-5 • Mother 2 • Stamper RT
Side 2: XEX 580-5 • Mother 1 • Stamper MM
That 1 MM Side 2 is a particularly nice feature, giving this copy genuine Beatles pressing interest despite the more modest visual/playback grade.

CONDITION & PLAYBACK 🎧
Vinyl: VG+ overall / strong VG in places
The vinyl is a very respectable original mono listening copy. Playback is generally enjoyable and sits around VG+ overall, but Michelle has some light surface noise, which keeps the grade conservative. For that reason, I would describe the record as VG+ overall, with some strong VG playback in places, rather than pushing it into EX territory.
Sleeve: VG
The original Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is presentable and complete, with good period character, but it has visible age-related wear, handling marks and tape/residue repair to the lower corner. Because of that, the sleeve is fairly graded as VG.
Overall: VG / VG+
A strong original-era copy with excellent pressing detail, but priced and positioned honestly due to condition.
COLLECTORS NOTES ✨
Key points:
⭐ UK mono Parlophone PMC 1267
⭐ Classic black/yellow Parlophone label
⭐ “Sold in U.K.” label text
⭐ KT tax code
⭐ 1968 second press label variation C
⭐ Hazel Yarwood cut: XEX 579-5 / XEX 580-5
⭐ Very early mother/stamper details: 2 RT / 1 MM
⭐ Original Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve
⭐ Period plain inner sleeve
The mother/stamper combination is one of the best features here. Side 2 showing mother 1 / stamper MM is especially attractive, and Side 1’s 2 RT is also very early. This gives the copy proper Beatles pressing appeal, even though the sleeve tape and light surface noise on Michelle correctly keep it out of premium condition.
