Description
Up for bid is Ringo Starr’s first solo album Sentimental Journey on Capitol Records. Originally released on Apple Records in 1970, this is the RARE second pressing on Capitol’s Purple label. This particular variation was released in 1978 and far rarer than its original Apple release and the Capitol green budget label released in 1980, which are the more common ones you see the around the most. The vinyl is in M to M- condition, with M to M- labels. The cover is in it’s original shrink wrap and grades Ex maybe better with some toning from age, and a split on the shrink along the spine and a minor split in the shrink at the lower bottom of the mouth too. A Capitol Value sicker is adhered to the shrink and a $1.99 price sticker as well, a sticker is also along the bottom spine outside the shrink, probably to indicate a buget series and to cover up the old prefix # of SW 3365 in which is located in the left hand corner on the front cover, the Green label prefix started with a SN, a Capitol logo is present underneath the truck ( PLEASE VIEW PHOTOS OF DESCRIPTION) A rifle on the trail off area indicates a Winchester pressing. Even though it wasn’t a bigger seller for Ringo, this is the RAREST purple label album of the solo BEATLES catalog. So if you’re looking for this variation or just becoming aware of it for the first time, it’s right here.... thanks for looking!
