Description
BEATLES Rubber Soul
This is the rare December crossover 1965 pressing of Rubber Soul, a pressing which appeared in-between the first and second pressings. It has similar labels to the first press and the matrix numbers XEX 579-4 / XEX 580-1.
The sleeve: The front is in excellent condition - the picture is bright, clear and very clean with a small amount of laminate creasing. Top and bottom edges and the all-important spine are superb with only slight corner wear. The spine is straight and clearly legible. The back is also very clean though there is a sticker with a name top right. I haven't tried to remove this but it may remove with care. The laminate goes right to the edge of the flaps and bears the Garrod and Lofthouse Patents pending signature. There is some yellowing on the outer edge, a couple of small brown marks and a small 5mm tear where the vinyl has been removed. The photos on the back are superb.
The vinyl. Both sides are visually in very good condition with superficial lines/scuffs but the playback is superb. I have just listened to this Lp and, although it has been well-played, the sound is wonderful; bright and clear throughout with hardly any surface noise between tracks. It is a thoroughly enjoyable listen with no pops, skips or jumps (or anything else) to spoil the listener's enjoyment. I can't overstate how good tracks such as 'Michelle' and 'What Goes On' sound on this Lp even in the quieter moments. This is, in my, view a terrific playing copy and one to be heard and savoured.
The labels are in very good condition. There is a small sticker (side 1 see photo) and spindle wear.
This Lp does not have its original Emitex inner sleeve. It will be packed very carefully in a professional card mailer and the record will be placed in a new poly-lined sleeve.
Please note I will only sell within the UK.
