THE BEATLES - SGT PEPPER ORIGINAL MONO PRESSING: ORIGINAL UK FIRST PRESS - MONO CATALOGUE: PARLOPHONE PMC 7027 MATRIX: XEX 637-1 / XEX 638-1 MOTHERS/ STAMPERS: 1 AAL/ 3 AHM, SOLD IN THE UK STATEMENT THE RECORD: The vinyl does have some surface marks but is in very good condition. There are some pops & clicks which is to be expected of an album that it 43 years old ! These are most noticeable on "A Day In The Life" & "Getting Better". Having said that they do not detract too much from ones listening pleasure. The mono version is the one that The Beatles intended you to hear. It was the mono mix that they oversaw & it is well worth hearing. There are numerous differences between the mono & stereo mixes including the speed of the "She's Leaving Home". The mono version is slighly faster than that on the stereo version. THE LABELS: THE YELLOW AND BLACK LABELS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. THERE ARE SPINDLE MARKS ON BOTH SIDES - MOST NOTICEABLE ON SIDE ONE. The side 2 label bears the name of the previous owner in blue ballpoint pen,"Anne Muncaster". This is really only noticeable at certain angles. THE SLEEVE: THE FAMOUS PEPPER SLEEVE!!! What can one say? FULLY LAMINATED GATEFOLD SLEEVE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, AND COMES COMPLETE WITH THE CUT OUT SHEET. THE SLEEVE HAS A COUPLE OF SMALL THUMB LINES & A FEW VERY SMALL LAMINATE LINES CLOSE TO THE SPINE & BOTTOM EDGE. THE REAR SLEEVE IS EXCELLENT WITH JUST A FEW LIGHT CREASE LINES TO THE LAMINATE ALONG THE SPINE EDGE. THE GATEFOLD PICTURE INSIDE IS EXCELLENT WITH PERFECTLY STUCK DOWN FLIPBACKS. THE CUT OUT SHEET IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH JUST ONE MINOR CREASE. The rear sleeve at some point had the owners name written on it in the top left hand corner. The biro ink has long since gone but the very slight indentation of the letters remains. Again only visible from certain angles. Photos show the actual item:
