STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER/PENNY LANE DOME LABEL 45 VG-
Extremely hard to find 45 in any condition. In fact, in 44 years of collecting, this is the only copy I’ve ever seen in person, and that’s with serious, concerted looking everywhere.
Sleeve: Company sleeve is present, and in very nice condition. There are no splits, writing or tears. The 45 will ship in a generic white sleeve in order to protect your company sleeve during shipping.
Vinyl: The vinyl looks pretty rough, covered in light to moderate scratches. You cannot feel any of them with your fingertip, but the sheer volume makes it apparent that the original owner played it to death, storing it outside its paper sleeve. However, believe it or not, playback is VG. That means that the stylus detects only the heavier scratches. There is obviously a level of surface noise and pops upon playback. But it doesn’t sound like your stylus is playing a coarse sheet of sand paper. This copy won’t cause your turntable, receiver and speakers to all unplug themselves, grow legs and run off in separate directions until you come to your senses. It’ll just sound noisy when you play the 45.
Both sides play all the way through with no skips. The full fidelity of Capitol discs is clear and present, it just happens to sound like John and Paul are singing their respective sides of the 45 with a mouth full of pop rocks.
