Description
This is the original BEATLES MONO UK LP "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" published in 1967 with the yellow and black label.
THIS IS A VERY FIRST PRESSING COPY WITH THE PROOF (4TH) SLEEVE.
The final 4th proof (test) print run produced a sleeve of suitable quality to go into live production - rather than waste these few test sleeves they were used with the first production copies.

VINYL VG. Beautiful original gloss with 4 or 5 scratches and marks - these can be seen in normal day light and causes the occasional light isolated click (not repeated). No track wear/distortion and no jumps or sticks. Matrix numbers:- XEX 637-1 , XEX638-1. 1 L, 1 A - from the first day production.
LABELS VG+. Nice condition - see photos.
SLEEVE VG+. Very nice ultra rare 4th Proof with of course "Patents Pending" and no "Available in Stereo" (stereo had not yet been pressed) - one or two creases - nice sharp opening edges. Light scuffing on the spine (see photo) VERY VERY RARELY ARE FOURTH PROOF COPIES THIS GOOD. Polysleeve is also included.
INNER SLEEVE VG+. Original RED AND WHITE with "Patents Applied For" - no splits/tears or writing.

[My gradings are based on the "RECORD COLLECTOR'S" grading system. The following text is from the "RECORD COLLECTOR" price guide:-
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, with out any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding,scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.]
