My clearout continues! you're bidding for:
BEATLES - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band orig vinyl LP Wide Spine VG+/VG 1967
cat no: PMC 7027 YEX 637-1 YEX 638-1 stampers 1 L 1 A
Therefore it's the first lacquer cut from the master, it's subsequently the first mother from that lacquer and finally the L and A denote the 8th and 3rd stampers used respectively to actually press the record. This makes this copy a really early press.
Vinyl is VG+ quite shiny but with quite a few paper marks and light scuffs, none of which sound. I recently play tested the LP and it sounds grades a solid VG+ only light crackle on the run ins to both sides, but great once the recording starts. The laminated gatefold sleeve is VG with a nice clear wide spine only found on early presses of t.his LP. It has light creases all over, with heavier rubbing to the spine corners, plus a crease to the top left. Both flipbacks are intact inside the gatefold with only light discolouration to the yellow inner. On the back cover there is a name written in pen (WATT) see pics, but it's quite faint and there's a little laminate lift to the bottom left corner. I've tried to mention all the signs of wear, none of them are huge but on the whole it brings the grading down to VG.
Both Black & Gold labels are VG+ with no writing or marks, just moderate spindle wear. The cut outs card insert is VG+ with a light crease to the top left corner. The orig red and white inner is included and is VG+ with only light creasing and a small stain on the top of one side.
