Description
One of the rarest British Beatles LPs, “Something New†on Parlophone CPCS-101—original black and yellow label issue from 1965. This was the first in the “CPCS†series of Beatles LPs pressed especially for export.
Original “flip-back†cover (printed by Garrod & Lofthouse) is VG with light ring wear, a few bumps along edges, and a 5/8†tear on front at LR (see below). Front lamination is still quite glossy and intact with no flaking or peeling. Original price sticker on front at UR (see below). Some yellowing and discoloration on back, and some writing in ink (see below). Seams are intact with no splits. Overall, a very displayable cover!
Disc is VG with numerous light scratches and scuffs, but no chips, nicks or fingerprints, and very little wear. No scratches deep enough to create a “popâ€, and none that can be heard over the music—crackles are noticeable only during the silences between tracks. Plays great with no detectable distortion, and excellent stereo sound! The sound would probably be even better after a good machine cleaning, but I prefer to leave that to the discretion of the winning bidder.
Labels are VG+ with only some light spindle trails and minor wear at the spindle hole, otherwise no wear, tears, stickers, stains, writing or even any fingerprints. Clean and sharp with perfect silver print!
