Description
This is a rare, original 7’ US PROMOTIONAL COPY of Strawberry Fields Forever b/w Penny Lane.
Both yellow labels are in excellent minus condition. They are exceptionally clean and show hardly any signs of wear. Each label includes the inscription “Promotional Record Not For Sale“.
The record is in VERY GOOD+ condition. (It has very minor surface marks but no scratches and no noticeable deterioration in sound quality).
The promo version of Penny Lane is different than the final release copy. The mix has more bass throughout the recording and an additional trumpet solo at the end of the song, hence the extended length 4’05”.
The USA promo pressing was not accompanied by the picture sleeve. It came in the 1967-68 generic Capitol black & white sleeve. The original Capitol sleeve (see photo) is in good++ condition, showing slight wear.
This is a rare opportunity to purchase an original promo issue of a great Beatle's classic!
