A HOLY GRAIL ITEM in the world of vintage Beatles vinyl collecting!! This is the coveted original STEREO issue 2nd STATE Pasteover original BUTCHER COVER Beatles LP and a very scarce #5 Los Angeles plant issue! As most of you know, these STEREO BUTCHER COVERS were PRODUCED AT A 1 TO 10 RATIO TO THE MONOS making them THE RAREST OF ALL BEATLES RECORDS EVER ISSUED!! According to Beatles record guide author Bruce Spizer, SECOND STATES HAVE BECOME THE HARDEST TO FIND in solid collector's condtition, due to experts and amateurs peeling away the paste-over slicks, often with dire consequences to the precious original Butcher cover below! The V-neck of Ringo's smock is CLEARLY VISABLE to the untrained eye, and this cover is in BEAUTIFUL VG++ example with NO WRITING OR MARKINGS OF ANY KIND, with tight edges and seams all around and PERFECT SPINE ART LETTERING which is very important to the overall value of these! What is also great is that the front top right corner of the trunk slick can be lifted back about an inch to expose the Butcher Cover underneath!! WOW! Even includes CORRECT ORIGINAL CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE showing a miniature photo of the RUBBER SOUL album cover!
