Beautiful original 1st pressing of "The Beatles Again" aka "Hey Jude".  Released 26 Feb. 1970. Spizer version APP 385.SR1 (Jacksonville, IL plant manufacture). SO-385 on the labels and SW-385 on the cover. You'd be hard pressed to find a better copy of this LP in terms of vinyl AND cover condition. This LP was taken care of exceptionally for nearly 50 years. It is rare to find an original Beatles record in this condition!

Originally, the LP was going to be called "The Beatles Again" but before the covers were printed (and after some labels were manufactured), the title was changed to "Hey Jude" to take advantage of the huge hit single that the Beatles had 1.5 years earlier.

I use the visual grading standards of the Cox/Daniels "Price Guide For The Beatles American Records" (6th edition). These grading standards tend to be more stringent (and, due to this, are graded slightly lower) than Goldmine. See my various photos of the cover and record.  I grade conservatively using a bright light so the buyer knows exactly what they are bidding on.

LP is in nearly perfect shape (one of the nicest LPs I've ever had for sale) other than a few tiny marks from handling (you really gotta look hard to even see those!). "MFD. BY APPLE RECORDS, INC." on side 2 label. Labels are MINT with no tears, no writing, etc. and the spindle holes are awesome. "sf" (for Sam Feldman) and "Bell Sound" notations are stamped in both runouts. What may be the original plain Apple dust jacket is included; there are tears to the paper dust jacket, however.

Cover - NM
The cover is in awesome shape. The corners have extremely light bumps that I would not even call "corner bumps" that are only even visible due to the full color front/rear slicks; if this was a white border cover, you wouldn't even notice them. Of course no bends, no ring wear, no water stains, no writing/ink, no mold, etc. This is one of the nicest Beatles covers I've ever seen.

LP will be shipped in a rigid cardboard mailer for protection; I ship the vinyl outside of the cover in order to protect the cover during shipment.  Payment is due within 3 calendar days of the auction's end.  Great piece of rock and roll history!  Please see my other Beatles items for sale.
