The BEATLES. Bootleg, later edition, 2015, THE DECCA TAPES, DOL version, STILL SEALED!! The original was Circuit Tecords, 1979, no logo on the bass drum. All 15 songs included here, in MONO!! This one was produced by Mike Smith at Decca, January 1, 1962!!. The Beatles admit they were nervous. Some tracks seem hollow, second best, but others are still MAGICAL!! After all it was the Beatles (with Pete Best, not Ringo yet!!). Another great iconic cover on a “gotta have” record album! The FAB FOUR, done by their friend/artist from Hamburg, Klaus Vorrmann, done in black and white collage before collaging was popular! Another marvelous and iconic cover! UNPLAYED, it is presumed Goldmine Mint as it is STILL SEALED, since purchase. Presumed near perfect!! See photo 3 for sample image of original Circuit cover, 1979. The Labels then were Red, Green, or blank White. This may be a Russian Bootleg. Not sure! Classic tracks here are: SEARCHIN’, THREE COOL CATS, CRYING WAITING HOPING, and TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY BABY. 3 other magical tracks are the 3 early Lennon-McCartney songs: LIKE DREAMERS DO, LOVE OF THE LOVED, and HELLO LITTLE GIRL. Of course every song is now a classic, even today, nearly 60 years later. This is truly their FIRST album, a full year before the UK Please Please Me LP. My personal favorite track is SEPTEMBER IN THE RAIN (with classic McCartney count in “One, Two, scoo- bee-do!). AWESOME!! The Beatles aimed at getting Decca to sign them but Decca instead signed The Tremeloes!! Soon however the tape got to George Martin at EMI Parlophone and he heard the magic. Can You??? The Beatles were still a Black Leather rock group, not in suits till Fall 1962. They had a stage repertoire of over 300 songs. Brian Epstein personally selected these 15 for the audition, to show their variety and versatility, and accent all 3 singers (on stage the 3 shared the mic almost equally, with John 21, Paul 19, and George 18, each featured equally. They all still sound so fresh, with Incredible energy from the Boys as they attack your ears with strong melodies and harmonies! This is a wonderful record, quite impressive really!! The cover sleeve is awesome, in plastic wrap and cover since its purchase by me. I quickly learned to handle them as little as possible, especially one of these reissues which I thought would become rarer and greatly treasured!! Research and Read more on “45cat”, my favorite worldwide discography site. Trying to price it is guesswork. Very few are up for sale from 2015 (the date on the back cover) with the black hype sticker on the front cover very scarce!! But I guess the market will tell me what these are worth! This one is quite nice! Don’t be misled by the term “bootleg”, a historical record can be a real treasure. None better than anything “BEATLES”. You decide!!
