The BEATLES with Tony Sheridan 45rpm. USA MGM 1964 Original Black Labels. Issued with 2 songs from Spring 1964, but song were from their early Hamburg recordings from 1961. This 45 Vinyl Condition is Goldmine EX. Nice and shiny and maybe a scuff but very clean and plays thru well. . A great copy! Proud to own! And labels are clean too with no wear or writing! EX means Excellent!! Super for 50+ year old vinyl. A SUPER Collectable from 1964!! These are 2 Early songs from the Hamburg Years: CRY FOR A SHADOW (an original Harrison-Lennon instrumental performed by the Beatles without Tony Sheridan. In total they recorded 8 numbers during a one year contract period with Tony singing on 6, Lennon doing Ain’t She Sweet, and the group rocking on Cry for a Shadow!!) and WHY (CAN’T YOU LOVE ME AGAIN) (a song written by Sheridan, a nice ballad that haunts the listener!!). These 2 were issued worldwide as a single in many countries, of course after Beatlemania occurred and everything they recorded was selling big time!! This comes with Common White Sleeve and SUPER RARE MGM Red Picture Sleeve from USA only. The Green MGM Picture Sleeve of the Beatles/Sheridan MY BONNIE is much easier to find. By the time MGM issued this RED Picture Sleeve the sales had lessened. BUT IT MEANS THEY ARE RARER TODAY! Hard to get this sleeve for under $100 today. NOTE: this sleeve was previously damaged by someone poking their thumb they the middle of the sleeve, both sides. It was been repaired with tape the best as possible. THE RARITY OF THE SLEEVE MAKES IT VALUABLE!!! Both sides here are MONO!! And all the Original 60s Beatles 45s were MONO until Get Back. Stereo did not become common on 45s till 1969! CRY FOR A SHADOW is a great typical early 60s guitar rocker, and it still hold up well, with dialing guitars and lots of McCartney background shouts!! FANTASTIC early Beatles!!
