Description
An ultra rare 1984 UK Beatles Rubber Soul test pressing with EMI labels--the first we've ever seen with this label design. On Discogs this is The-Beatles-Rubber-Soul/release/1856798. We're guessing this was a rejected test pressing, as the disc looks mint, but 'Michelle' plays with some surface noise. The rest of the album plays beautifully. The cover is in NM condition.
Matrix numbers are YEX 178-6/3/52 and 179-5/unreadable/21 with the initials HTM hand etched on both sides. On the labels you can barely (and we mean barely!) discern a hint of the boxed EMI's from the Parlophone labels for this release. We don't know if this is the result of a label printing issue, or if there were stock copy labels pressed underneath these test pressing labels, but this is absolutely genuine, with the labels pressed on to the vinyl. We found this in a Copenhagen rare record store among literally thousands of rare UK and foreign Beatles LP's. Guaranteed authentic with no time limit.
We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and -. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound. We regularly receive praise for our grading, but as all grading is subjective, we are happy to give a full refund for anything you aren't happy with no questions asked.
Unlike some eBay sellers, we don't feel the need to hype records by including long reviews or albums, quoting lyrics, making up arcane variations. We just grade accurately, describe any flaw, and sell only high quality rare records in fine condition.
