The Beatles - 'Twist And Shout' E.P. GEP 8882

The Beatles incredibly rare late 1960's SOLID CENTER UK pressing of the 'Twist And Shout' E.P. Originally released on the 12th July 1963, when it reached number 1 in the UK charts. This 4th pressing is actually undocumented in my version of the 'UK Rare Record Price Guide'.

It can be dated to between 1966 and 1969. The solid centre labels have the 'Gramophone Co. Ltd....' rim print and feature the 'Sold in the UK....' statement. The 'KT' tax code is embossed on the side 1 label. As I am sure Beatles collectors know the 'Sold in the UK....' statement was dropped in 1969 with the final Beatles release to feature it being 'Ballad Of John And Yoko'. In addition, the front laminated cover has the unusual feature of having two rounded flipbacks on the reverse. The early 1960's issues had three rounded flipbacks and the 1970's issues had angular flipbacks.

These solid center 4th UK pressings would have been made in very, very small quantities and as such are incredibly rare. To my knowledge 'Twist And Shout' did not re-enter the UK charts between 1966 and 1969. This undocumented issue of 'Twist And Shout' is surely the rarest version of The Beatles classic E.P.

Side 1. 7TCE 762-2N KT 24 RPG

Side 2. 7TCE 763-1N KT 2 AMO

The vinyl is in VERY GOOD+/EXCELLENT- condition.

Both labels are in EXCELLENT condition.

The sleeve is in EXCELLENT- condition.
