BEATLES UK, A Collection of Beatles Oldies’, rare mis pressed record label and sleeve, stereo UK LP.

PCS 7016, black and yellow UK 1969 stereo Parlophone record labels.

A UK stereo issue in original condition, featuring:

1. on the record label on side two, the music publishing credit of ‘Mecolico’ has not been printed !. See the comparison photo, this error was soon spotted at EMI and corrected, so only a small number of these mis pressed record labels were printed. This error could have been down to the fact that earlier record labels featured the track, ‘I want to hold your hand’ printed out of alignment !, so maybe when the printing plates were ‘adjusted’ to correct this, the text of, ‘Mecolico’ was ‘accidentally’ removed !,

2. the front of the sleeve does not have the usual ‘stereo’ logo printed to the top right corner !,

3. mid 1969 record label variant, as each of the record labels do not feature the text, ‘Sold in UK’ etc,

4. each of the record labels feature a more unusual ‘dot’ printed between the records catalogue number, ie , ‘PCS . 7016’,

5. the letters ‘KT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. This is odd, as the ‘KT’ code was phased out in early 1969, but this record would have been manufactured in mid 1969 !,

6. the rear of the sleeve has been mis pressed, as the text, ‘Patent Pending’ etc has been printed too high on the bottom ‘flip back’ and outside of the laminate !,

7. comes with its original 1969 EMI period advertising inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is very good+ condition, the spine has remained white and straight and all of the text on the spine is readable. The rear of the sleeve features the original UK 1960s ‘flip back’ design, ie fold over edges. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good condition and is the original period EMI red and white advertising inner sleeve. There are NO tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve. There is a split to each of the side edges.

THE RECORD: each side of the record is in very good condition. The record is made of the original 1960s, period thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix are: YEX 619 - 1G and YEX 620 - 1G,

The mother / stampers are: ‘2 AL’ and ‘4 MR’.

THE AUDIO: side one plays very good+, it plays with some ‘ticks’ heard here and there. Side two plays very good++. The record plays with a loud powerful stereo sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE RECORD LABELS: side one is in near excellent condition, side two is in very good++ condition. The letters ‘KT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

PACKING - ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION. BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVE, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
