A Hard Days Night, ‘know’ mis press UK mono record

label LP.

PMC 1230, original UK black and yellow Parlophone record labels.

A UK LP in original condition, featuring:

1. a rare mis press mono record label on side one, as the track, ‘I should have known better’, has been mis pressed as, ‘I should have know better’ !. Only a small number of these mis pressed record labels were printed before EMI spotted the error and corrected it,

2. on the rear of the sleeve, this track title has been spelt correctly,

3. comes with its original period plain white, EMI ‘Patents applied for’ inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in good+ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good++ condition and has remained clean and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve features the original period 1960s, tri ‘flip back’ design, ie fold over edges. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a 90mm tear to the front panel at the centre of the opening edge that has be repaired from the inside with sellotape and there is an area of laminate and colour loss on the front, centre opening edge. There is a split to the centre, bottom edge.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original period, EMI plain white, ‘Patents applied for’ inner sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve.

THE RECORD: each side of the record is in very good+ condition. The record is made from the original 1960s quality thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are: XEX 481 3N and XEX 482 3N,

The mother / stampers are: ‘7 ATO’ and ‘7 AMM’.

THE AUDIO: each side plays very good++. Side one plays with some light ‘crackle’ and I did hear some light ‘ticks’ at the end of track five. Side two also plays with some light ‘crackle’. The record lays flat on the turntable and plays with a full loud, period mono sound.

THE LABELS: each of the record labels are in excellent condition. The letters ‘KT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. Each record label is free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PCS 3062, original first issue UK 1964 stereo yellow and black Parlophone records labels.

A UK copy in original condition, featuring:

1. a hard to find, UK 1964 stereo copy featuring an unusual first issue ‘darker’ printed sleeve, featuring:

a. more ‘redder’ colour to the ‘faces’,

b. the rear, appears a lot ‘darker’,

Attempts were soon made at the printers to make the sleeve ‘a lot lighter’ and to ‘correct’ the ‘colour imbalance !’. Only a small number of these first issue ‘darker / redder’ face sleeves were printed,

2. on the front of the sleeve there is an old shop price sticker,

3. the records matrix on side two features the ‘number two’ that has been ‘corrected’ or ‘stamped over’ a number of times !, at the EMI factory !,

4. comes with its original ‘Use Emitex’ inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, the front and rear of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good+ condition, it has some of the usual wear and tear to the top and bottom of the spine, all of the text on the spine is readable. When the ‘gate fold’ sleeve is opened the two original ‘flip backs’, top and bottom, ie ‘fold over’ edges can be seen. Theres NO pen writing, splits, or ‘other’ stickers or any sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ inner sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve. There is a split to the two side edges and to the bottom edge.

THE RECORD: side one is in near very good condition, side two is in very good condition. The record is made from the original quality 1960s, thick and heavy vinyl.

The matrix are: YEX 142 – 1, the ‘number two’ appears to have been ‘stamped over’ a number of times at the factory, and YEX 143 - 1,

The mother / stampers are: ‘16 AT’ and ‘5 MH’.

THE AUDIO: each side plays very good+, each side plays with some ‘crackle’. The record lays flat on the turntable and plays with a full, loud period stereo sound.

THE LABELS: each of the record labels are in very good condition. On side two there is some black pen on the black area of the label. The letters ‘KT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. Each record label is free from any ‘other’ pen writing and free from any stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVE, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
