BEATLES UK – Abbey Road LP, very first issue, misaligned apple logo sleeve.

1969 PCS 7088 - Apple record labels.

A UK very first issue album in original condition, featuring:

1. a Misaligned APPLE logo mispress on the rear of the sleeve,

2. on side two of the record label the track ‘Her Majesty’ is not printed nor is it printed on the rear of the sleeve, but the track DOES play on the record !

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. The sleeve has an excellent quality glossy laminate. The original ‘thin’ spine is in excellent+ condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. The two opening edges of the sleeve are clean and crisp. As this is a very first issue of this album, September 1969, it features the Apple logo on the rear of the sleeve misaligned, to the left !. EMI were quick to correct this and very soon the sleeves were changed and the Apple logo was correctly aligned with the song listing. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original period plain white EMI sleeve, this sleeve is unusual as it has two ‘Patent’ numbers on it, 112,5555 and 107,2844. An excellent fresh, white well preserved sleeve. Theres are NO pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE VINYL: is in excellent condition. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy and doesn’t look as if it has been played very much at all.

The Matrix are:  YEX 749 - 2  and  YEX  750 - 1,

The mother/stampers are:  ‘ 4  M H T ’  and  ‘ 2  A M L ’,

THE AUDIO: is excellent, on side one on the intro on the first track I did hear a few short light ‘ticks and a ‘pop’, but as the playing surface is so clean a professional clean should remove these to give a near perfect audio. Side two plays excellent. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in near MINT condition. Again looking like there are little signs of play. As this is a very first issue side one shows a DARK green Apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
