BEATLES UK – Abbey Road, RARE ‘Cloud’ sleeve.
PCS 7088 - Apple record labels.
A rare sleeve variant, circa mid 1970s, featuring:
1. the front sleeve photo features ‘clouds’ in the sky !, when the regular sleeve photo of this album shows a clear blue sky !, see the comparison photo. Was this the original unedited photo that was taken back in August 1969 ?, was this original photo edited to show a deep blue sky above the famous pedestrian crossing ?,
2. side two of the record has an unusual matrix of ‘2 U’,
3. the record comes with its original ‘Important notice’, EMI records Ltd’, inner sleeve.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the sleeve is fully laminated. The two opening edges of the sleeve are in excellent condition and are crisp and sharp. The four corners of the sleeve have remained crisp and sharp. The ‘thicker’ spine is in very good condition and all the text is readable. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original period plain white ‘Important notice’ and ‘EMI records Ltd’ sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue.
THE VINYL: side one is in excellent+ condition, side two is in excellent condition. The record doesn’t ‘look’ as if its been played very much at all and has remained very clean, dark and glossy.
The matrix is: YEX 749 - 4 and YEX 750 – 2U (unusual),
The mother/stampers are : ‘2 A A’ and ‘6 P A’.
THE AUDIO: is excellent, it plays with nice quiet grooves, although I did hear some light ‘ticks’ on the first track side one, towards the end, the record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: side one is in near MINT condition, side two is in MINT condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

PACKING - ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
