Description

BEATLES UK, Abbey Road, mis aligned Apple sleeve, original first issue UK 1969 LP.

PCS 7088, original first issue UK 1969 ‘dark green’, Apple record label.

A first issue UK 1969 album in original condition, featuring:

1. original first issue UK 1969 sleeves of this album featured a ‘mis pressed’, ‘mis aligned’ Apple logo on the rear of the sleeve as the Apple logo was printed too far over to the left !. EMI were quick to correct this and very soon the sleeves were corrected to show the Apple logo correctly aligned with the albums track listing,

2. on the front of the sleeve, top right there is an original, 'Boots', 'shop price sticker' that reads, '39/10', its original 1969, pre decimal shop retail price,

3. engraved onto side two of the 'run off' groove features the earliest 'mother' of '1',

4. each of the record labels feature a more unusual ridge, some 5mm in from the outer edge of the record label,

5. original first issue UK 1969 record matrix of, YEX 749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,

6. original first issue UK 1969 ‘dark green’ Apple colour record label on side one,

7. the track, ‘Her Majesty’ plays on the record and is printed on the record label, but this track title is not printed on the rear of the sleeve !,

8. comes with its original period plain white 'EMI' 'Patent No. 1,125,555' text inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition. The sleeve is laminated front and rear. The quality laminated sleeve has retained a super glossy finish. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp. The original period ‘thin’ spine is in excellent+ condition and has remained clean white and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original period EMI plain white, ‘Patent No. 1,125,555’ inner sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean and white. An excellent original, very clean white inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is made of the period, quality heavy grade paper and has a ‘textured’ surface on the inside. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve. There is some creasing to the front, top right corner.

THE RECORD: each side of the record is in near excellent condition. The record is made from the quality period, 1960s thick, heavy vinyl.

The records matrix is: YEX 749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,

The mother / stampers are: ‘4 OPA’ and ‘1 MOM’.

THE AUDIO: side one plays with some light 'ticks', 'pops' and ‘crackle’, heard here and there, so overall I will grade the audio on side one as near excellent. Side two, plays with some light 'ticks' and ‘crackle’, heard here and there, so overall I will grade the audio on side two as near excellent. Each side of the record plays with a full powerful period, 'stereo' sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE RECORD LABELS: each of the record labels are in excellent++ condition. As this is an original first issue UK copy from 1969, side one shows a dark green 'Apple' colour. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.
