BEATLES UK – Abbey Road, original French Export Green vinyl.
1978 PCS 7088 - Apple record labels.
A UK first issue, Export album circa 1978, in original condition, featuring:
1. during the coloured vinyl craze in the UK in the late 1970s, EMI made some coloured vinyl of some Beatle albums. One of these was a very limited number issue of Abbey Road made of GREEN vinyl, these copies were intended for export to the French market only,
2. this particular copy has a ridge and a groove to each side of the labels. The surface of the labels within the ridges and grooves have a much ‘rougher’ surface to them,
3. the rear of the sleeve was given a unique ‘Made in England’ sticker,
4. the track ‘Her Majesty’ is printed on the record label and plays on the record but this track is NOT printed on the rear of the sleeve !.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. This laminate is excellent and just has one small thumb crease to the front. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained crisp and sharp. As this is a later sleeve, ie circa 1978, it has a wider spine, the spine width measures 3mm. The spine is in excellent++ condition and has remained fresh, white and clean, all the text on the spine is clear to read. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, or any other stickers on the sleeve, theres NO sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original plain white sleeve, with its original ‘Patent Nos 1,125,555’ together with the text ‘Made in Great Britain’. A very clean and relatively crease free sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE VINYL: is in near MINT condition. By nature these coloured vinyl records make it difficult to see any marks to the playing surfaces, but it is worth noting that I cannot see any marks to the playing surfaces while viewing the record under normal daylight conditions. The vinyl is made from thick, heavy vinyl. It has remained very clean and glossy and looks like new.
The record doesn’t have any matrix numbers or mother / stampers in the conventional sense for an EMI record:
side one states: YEX 749 PCS 7088 – side 1, and
side two states: YEX 750 PCS 7088 – HTM,
THE AUDIO: is excellent. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: are in near MINT condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING - ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
DISCOUNT WILL BE GIVEN ON POSTAGE FOR MULTIPLE PURCHASES.
