BEATLES UK – ‘HELP’ LP, NO Stereo logo sleeve, NO ‘Sold in UK’ etc text and mis pressed label.

PCS 3071 – circa 1969, black and yellow Parlophone labels, without the ‘Sold in UK’ etc text labels.

A UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. for a short time, circa mid 1969, EMI in the UK seem to be ‘experimenting !’ with the sleeve of the HELP LP. This sleeve has the variation of NOT having the unusual ‘Stereo’ logo printed on the front, top right of the sleeve !,

2. during mid 1969 the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc was removed from the black and yellow record labels, just before the new ‘one box’ black and silver Stereo labels were to appear,

3. side one, track five on the record label has been mis pressed to read:   ‘ANOTHI R GIRL’ !,

4. the record features a ‘deep groove’ pressing, for when the record is tilted to the light the ‘deeper grooves’ can be seen.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front is laminated. For its age the sleeve has retained its four sharp corners. Most of these Stereo sleeves at the time had a medium size ‘outlined’ Stereo logo printed on the sleeve, but this sleeve has NO Stereo logo printed to the front, top right !. The spine is in excellent condition and all the text is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period ‘tri flipback’ design. There are NO splits, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue. There are some light pen marks to the rear.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original EMI red and white advertising sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stains, stickers or sticker residue.

THE VINYL: is in very good++ condition. It has remained very dark and glossy. The vinyl is made from thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix  nos. are:  YEX 168 – 1  and  YEX  169 – 1,

The Mother/Stampers are:  ‘3  O T’  and   ‘3  P L’.

THE AUDIO: side one is very good, I did hear some light ‘ticks’ towards the end of track five and some light ‘ticks’ into the first half of track six. Side two plays excellent and gives an excellent full, deep, rich sound from this ‘deep groove’ pressing. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers and sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
