PCS 7124 – UK first issue Apple record labels.

A very first issue UK album from 1970, featuring:

1. very first UK issue matrix of, ‘YEX 827 – 1U’ and ‘YEX 828 - 1U’,

2. the text, ‘copyright also claimed by Maclen (music) Ltd’ appears on each record label, this text is sometimes not present on the labels.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition. The sleeve is laminated front and back. The spine is in very good++ and all the text on the spine is clear to read. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition. It has the original printed text, ‘Patent Nos: 1,125,555’, on it. The two opening edges are in excellent condition and have remained clean and unworn, an excellent clean, white sleeve. There are NO tears, edge splits, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE RECORD: side one is in very good++ condition, side two is in very good condition. It has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are: YEX 827 – 1U and YEX 828 - 1U,

The mother / stampers are: side one, ‘1 R G’ and on side two, ‘1 L’

THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent, it plays with some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. Side two plays very good+, again it plays with some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in near excellent condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

the first 45 single is:

John Lennon and Elton John, I saw her standing there / Whatever gets you through the night, and Lucy in the sky with diamonds.

DJS 10965, 33 rpm – UK issue, black and red DJM solid centre record labels, recorded ‘live’ in Madison Square Gardens in New York on the 28th November 1974, featuring:

1. the record plays at the speed of 33 1/3 rpm on the turntable and not the usual 45 rpm !.

CONDITION:

THE SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original UK issue picture sleeve. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained very clean. There are NO tears, splits, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE RECORD: is in excellent++ condition. It has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are:

Side one: DJS 10965 A2, hand etched and the letters and numbers: ‘A’ and ‘49’ are hand etched onto the ‘run off’ groove,

Side two: DJS 10965 B1, hand etched and the letter ‘B’ is hand etched onto the ‘run off’ groove.

THE AUDIO: is excellent.

THE LABELS: are in MINT condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

the second 45 single is:

John Lennon, No 9 dream / What you got.

R6003 - 45 rpm, UK issue, Apple record label.

An original UK issue from 1974, featuring:

1. very first UK matrix of: ‘1U’,

2. side one features a ‘lighter green’ Apple colour.

CONDITION:

THE SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition. It it plain white and has a ‘die cut hole’ each side. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There are some light age related marks here and there.

THE RECORD: side one is in very good+ condition and side two is in excellent++ condition. It has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are:

Side one: 7YCE 21758 – 1U,

Side two: 7YCE 21759 – 1U.

The mother/stampers are: ‘2 O’ and ‘2 R P’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. Side one features a ‘lighter green’ apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
