On offer here is a rare, 1969 2nd press UK copy of the Beatles EP 'The Beatles' Hits' on the Parlophone label. This pressing has the 'Gramophone rimtext' and no 'Sold in the UK' statement in the solid centre.

When this was issued the old EP format was not selling well at all. You can find the original 1st presses and the common EMI rimtext copies, but these 1969 presses are very hard to come by!

This copy is also in a phenomenal condition! Most copies turn up worn, played etc (they are nearly 50 years old now) but this copy looks nearly brand new! Check out the photos and the description below!

Also, this copy carries the KMT taxcode machine-stamped into the deadwax of side 2 (side 1 has KT machine-stamped). This is very unusual as KMT is a transition tax code that was used back in 1963, so to see it on a 1969 pressing is very unusual, especially since, by this time, the tax code was JT and was about to be fazed out!

Very rare to find these 2nd press EPs, especially in this condition!

The Company Sleeve : EX++

The original picture sleeve is looking incredible! The front retains all of its original colour and the laminate is crystal clear with a lovely, rich, thick shine to it. There's just the barely visible hint of disc impression. The seams are all holding perfectly with no splits or tears or anything. The back is a wonderful light cream colour with no rubbing, wear, marks, stains and just the very slightest hint of disc impression. The mouth edge is crisp and almost completely unworn! The only thing (which is bringing the condition grading down from being a true NM) is that there seems to be some residue at the top right of the back cover as you can see in the photo above. All in all, though, this sleeve is looking incredible!   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : EX+++/NM

The playing surface has got a beautifully crisp, sharp shine to it. The only thing I can see are just a couple of extremely faint, barely visible little scuffs here and there which bring the disc down from being a true NM. Phenomenal disc!

Labels : MINT-

The labels are pretty much perfect. No writing, no stickers, no tears or anything like that. I *think* I can just about make out one, solitary spindlemark on each label and the centerholes are completely unblemished. Top labels!
