BEATLES UK – Please Please Me LP, early copy.

PMC 1202 – black and yellow Parlophone labels.

A UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. the record label on one side one has an unusual double ridge and the area around the spindle hole has a more ‘rough’ surface than the rest of the label,

2. the more unusual letters of ‘MT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side two of the label,

3. there are three numbers engraved as the ‘mothers’ on each side of the record, this is unusual as there are only normally one or two numbers stamped on for the ‘mothers’.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front is laminated. The sleeve has a large mono logo to the front and the sleeve is the more unusual ‘Garrod and Lofthouse’, as most of these sleeves were made by the printers E J Day. The spine is in excellent+ condition and all the text is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has remained clean and white in colour for its age. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipback design, the flipbacks are all excellent, solid and well stuck down. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE VINYL: side one is in near excellent condition, the playing surface has a couple of light, non audible ‘scuffs’, but is still very clean, dark and glossy. Side two is in excellent condition and again it has remained very dark and glossy, evidence of little play. The record is made from the period, thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix is:  XEX  421 – 1N  and  XEX  422 – 1N,

The mother / stampers are:  ‘1 1 6   ROG’ and  ‘3 1 5    R P R’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent, it plays with some of the usual light crackle. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in near MINT condition, side two is in excellent condition. The more unusual letters of ‘MT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side two. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
