BEATLES UK - Rubber Soul, ‘NO mother !’ mis press, original 1965 mono.

PMC 1267 - original 1965 yellow and black Parlophone labels.

An early UK mono album in original condition, featuring:

1. side two of the record is very unusual as it has NO ‘mother’, engraved onto the run off groove. The engraving of the ‘mother/stampers’ along with the matrix was all part of the process to ‘press’ a record, so it is unclear why the ‘mother’ was not engraved onto the ‘runoff’ groove !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in excellent++ condition and all of the text is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period ‘tri flipbacks’ design. The rear of the sleeve has remained an excellent  fresh, clean white in colour. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean. The sleeve has remained clean and fresh for its age. There are NO tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a slight split to one of the side edges and some slight age related marks to one side.

THE RECORD: is in excellent condition. The record is made from the original 1960s ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl. The record has remained  very dark and glossy.

The matrix are:  XEX 579 - 4 and XEX 580 – 4,  

The mother / stampers are:   ‘ 3  G M P ’ and very unusual as the ‘mother’ on side two has not been engraved !, ‘ ?  G P D ’.

THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent+, it plays with relatively quiet grooves. Side two plays excellent, it plays with some light crackle and some ‘ticks and ‘pops’ here and there. The record lays flat on the turntable. An excellent playing copy.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. The letters ‘KT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side two. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
