BEATLES UK - Rubber Soul – RARE Ridged label. 

PMC 1267  Mono, Original 1965 Yellow & Black Parlophone Label.

An original UK album in 100% original condition.

Side One of the record label has a curious ‘ridge’ to it,  little seems to be  known of these RARE  ‘ridged’ record labels, some say they are   ‘CBS’ related other say  ‘Decca’ !.

The record has EMI mother/stampers so these pressing are really ‘unknown’   in their origin !.

Curious that on side Two of the record label there are the letters  ‘MT’ embossed onto it, this technically  is incorrect for a record pressed in 1965 !,  (should be ‘KT’)  maybe the  ‘MT’ and the ‘ridged’   label are related  in some way !

The vinyl to me appears to be thicker  and  heavier than  normal !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE:  is in very good+ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated.   The spine is in very good+ condition   it is white in colour and clean and all the text is clear to read.  The rear of the sleeve has the tri flipbacks design.   This is a very strong sleeve with very little wear,  the unlaminated rear of the sleeve is   clean and white for its age.    There are  NO  Pen marks or tears.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition,  it is the original  ‘Use Emitex’  sleeve,  it is very clean and white for its age.  There is NO edge rubbing wear,  tears,  Biro Pen or  stains  on it.

THE VINYL:   is in near excellent  condition   and is made from thick, heavy vinyl.   The vinyl is  clean,  dark and glossy. 

The matrix is:     XEX 579 - 4 and    XEX 580 – 4,

The Mother / Stampers are:     4    8   -   R  H  T   and   4   -   R  O  D. 

THE AUDIO:   side One the audio is excellent apart from  a   ‘tick’  that can be heard on the last minute to the song  ‘Norwegian Wood’.    Side Two the audio is very good, there is some crackle, maybe a professional clean of side Two would improve the audio as the paying surface is so clean.  The vinyl lays flat on the turntable and plays without the needle sticking or jumping. 

THE LABELS:  are in near excellent  condition, as mentioned there is a mysterious  ‘ridge’  on side One, see photo on the label/vinyl.  Unusually   there is an incorrect  ‘M T’ embossed onto side Two.  There is the remains of some   ‘sticker’ residue   on side  One.  

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE.
