BEATLES UK, Rubber Soul, loud cut, rare ridged label, original UK 1965 mono LP.

PMC 1267, original UK 1965 mono yellow and black Parlophone labels.

A UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. an original 1965 UK mono first issue of this album featuring a 1/1 mono matrix, now referred to as the ‘loud cut’,

2. upon its first release in the UK in December 1965 attempts were made to recall these first issue 1/1 mono matrix records as the Beatles record producer was not satisfied with the overall sound balance. These first issue 1/1 mono matrix records were quickly replaced with the more familiar 4/4 mono matrix records,

3. this particular copy is very unusual as it features a ridge on side one of the record label,

4. unusual ‘mothers’ on side two of the record as they appear as three numbers, being: ‘636’,

5. on the record label on side two it features the ‘out of place’ letters ‘M T’ embossed around the spindle hole. The MT codes were no longer used after July 1963 so it is odd that this appears on a record manufactured in late 1965 !,

6. comes with its original ‘Use Emitex’ inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good+ condition and has remained clean and straight and most of the text on the spine is readable. The rear of the sleeve features the original 1960s ‘tri’ flip back, ie fold over edges design. There are NO stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. On the rear, top there is a name ‘stencilled’ and on the rear. bottom left side ‘flip back’ there is some damage. There are some small blue pen ‘ticks’ against the songs listing.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ inner sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve. To one side there are two 20mm tears around the ‘die cut hole’. There is some overall ‘creasing’ to the inner sleeve.

THE RECORD: each side is in very good+ condition. The record is made from the period 1960s ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl.

The matrix are: XEX 579 - 1 and XEX 580 – 1, the original withdrawn UK mono matrix,

The mother / stampers are: ‘3 TO’ and ‘636 TH’.

THE AUDIO: each side plays excellent++, each side plays with some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there, but in general each side plays with excellent quiet grooves. The record plays with a full loud, powerful period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE RECORD LABELS: each of the record labels are in very good+ condition. Unusually the letters ‘MT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side two. Each record label is free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
