Description

BEATLES UK - Rubber Soul original rare ridged label.

PMC 1267 original Mono.

Original 1965 Yellow & Black Parlophone Labels.

A UK first press album in original condition.

1. side one, the record label has a curious ‘ridge’ to it, it is now believed that these ridged labels were a result of EMI using old stamping machines,

2. side two on the label there are the letters ‘MT’ embossed around the spindle hole. Technically this is incorrect for a record made in 1965, as the ‘MT’ code was no longer used after July 1963, so it tends to confirm the above point,

3. the record has EMI format mother / stampers,

4. side one of the record label has an addition ‘dot’ within the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc, as it reads, ‘Sold in .U.K.’ etc.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is very good+ condition and most of the text is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipbacks design. There is some blue pen to the rear of the sleeve on two of the song listings. There is a split to the bottom corner where the opening edges meet the bottom edge.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, it is the ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve, it is very clean and white for its age. There are NO tears, splits, stains or pen writing.

THE VINYL: is in very good condition and is made from the original thick, heavy vinyl. The vinyl is dark and glossy.

The matrix nos. are - XEX 579 - 4 and XEX 580 – 4,

The mother / stampers are:   ‘ 4 – GAT ’and ‘ 4 – GAR ’.

THE AUDIO:is very good, it plays with some crackle and the odd light ‘tick’ here and there. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in very good+ condition, each label has some ‘spindle trails’. The labels are free from any pen writing or sticker residue.
