BEATLES UK - Rubber Soul, rare ridged labels, original UK mono.

PMC 1267, original 1965 mono yellow and black Parlophone labels.

A UK issue album in original condition, featuring:

1. a very hard to find copy with ridged labels each side. The label on side one has a more shallow ridge, but the label on side two is more pronounced. It is now believed that these rare ridged labels were a result of EMI re employing old manufacturing machines,

2. side two on the label, there are the letters ‘MT’ embossed around the spindle hole. Technically this is incorrect for a record made in 1965, as the ‘MT’ code was no longer used after July 1963. This inconsistency helps to tie in with the ridged labels,

3. the record has EMI format mother / stampers,

4. the sleeve is made by the printing company, ‘E J Day’.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in excellent++ condition and has remained an excellent clean white in colour and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The two opening edges and the four corners of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp. The rear of the sleeve features the original, period 1960s tri flipbacks design. The rear of the sleeve has remained an excellent clean, fresh white for its age. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean and unworn, an excellent well preserved sleeve. There are NO splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a discrete ‘cross’ written in black pen to the top right on one side and a 10mm tear, around the ‘die cut hole’.

THE RECORD: side one is in excellent++ condition, it look like new, it doesn’t look as if it has been played very much at all. Side two is in excellent+ condition, it looks almost like new. The record is made from the original 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are: XEX 579 4 and XEX 580 4,  

The mother / stampers are: ‘ 7 G O H ’ and ‘ 9 G H M ’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent++, an excellent playing copy. The record plays with an excellent full, clear, loud period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent+ condition with some light spindles trails on each side. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
