BEATLES UK – ‘Sgt Pepper’ original Mono, mispress label.

PMC 7027 – black and yellow Parlophone labels.

A UK album in original condition featuring:

1.  a hard to find mispress copy as the record label on side two, the track ‘A day in the life’ has NOT been printed on the label !. It is hard to see how this could have happened at the EMI printing factory. The track at the time was banned by the BBC in 1967 in  England, maybe for a short while it was that fact why the track was left off the label !. The reference to the track was never removed from the sleeve so that theory seems unlikely !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, it is fully laminated. The spine is in very good++ condition and has remained a good clean white, the spine is still very strong, there is some of the usual light rubbing to the laminate on the spine, most of the text on the spine is readable. There are NO splits, tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.   

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original plain white EMI ‘Patents applied for’ sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE INSERT: the green card insert is present and is in excellent condition. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stickers or sticker residue.

THE VINYL: is in near excellent condition, it has remained very dark and glossy. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix  nos. are:  XEX  637 – 1  and  XEX  638 - 1,  

The Mother/Stampers are:  ‘ 3  8   M M H  ’  and  ‘ 1 9   M M M ’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent and plays with hardly any ‘crackle’. I did hear some light ‘ticks’ for about two minutes of play toward the end of the track ‘Getting Better’ and some light ticks for about one minute of play towards the end of the track ‘Lovely Rita’. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. There are NO letters embossed around the spindle holes. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
