PMC 7027, original UK 1967 black and yellow Parlophone record labels.

A first issue UK mono 'wide spine' copy in original condition, featuring:

1. an original first issue UK 1967 mono, 'wide spine’ sleeve that measures nearly 9mm at its 'widest' point. It is believed that these original 'wide spine' sleeves were the very first to be printed, but due to storage problems, the ‘wide spine’ sleeves were dis continued in favour of the more familiar, ‘thinner’ spine Pepper sleeves,

2. comes with its original earliest, 'dark green' card 'cut out' sheet insert,

3. comes with its original red and white 'wavy' pattern inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition. The sleeve is fully laminated. The original 'wide spine’ is in excellent++ condition and it has remained clean, white and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The four opening edges of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp. The 'eight' corners of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp for their age. When the ‘gate fold’ sleeve is opened the two original, top ‘flip backs’, ie fold over edges can be seen. When the ‘gate fold’ sleeve is opened it is super clean and glossy. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. On the rear panel there are some slight 'vertical' indentations to the laminate, but this can only really be seen when the sleeve is 'tilted' to the light.

THE INSERT: is in excellent+ condition and is the original earliest 'DARK green' cardboard ‘cut-out’. There are NO tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the insert.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original red and white ‘wavy’ pattern sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean and unworn. There are NO tears, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve. There is a slight split to the two side edges and a slight split to the bottom edge and the name 'SGT PEPPER' has been written in black pen on one side, to the top left corner.

THE RECORD: side one is in excellent++ condition. Side two, the is a light 'scuff', non audible, about half way across track one, so I will grade here as in very good++ condition, the rest of track one is in excellent+ condition, the rest of side two is in excellent+ condition. The record is made of the original, period 1960s ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.

The records 'engraved' matrix is: XEX 637 - 1 and XEX 638 - 1,

The records 'engraved', 'mother / stampers' are: ‘3 GDT’ and ‘2 TO'.

THE AUDIO: each side of the record plays excellent. The record lays flat on the turntable and plays with a full, powerful period 'mono' sound.

THE RECORD LABELS: side one is in excellent+ condition. Side two is in excellent++ condition. The letters ‘KT’ are embossed around the 'spindle hole' on side two. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
