BEATLES UK – WHITE ALBUM, ORIGINAL MONO.

1968 PMC 7067/7068 -  APPLE RECORD LABEL.

A UK FIRST EDITION TOP LOADING MONO PRESSING WITH A UNIQUE SERIAL NUMBER OF  ‘ No. 0265783 ’.   

The record labels on side one and two show  the  text  ‘ An EMI recording ’,   but   oddly on sides  three and four this  text   does NOT  appear !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE:  the double album gatefold sleeve is in excellent  condition,  the sleeve have remained very white in colour.     On the front it has  an  embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL Number of   No. 0265783,    this number appears clear and bold.  To the rear there is no text  proving this to be a genuine  MONO  sleeve.    The records are accessed from the top.    The spine is unusual as it is very thin, measuring  just 6mm,  ( the spine is NOT squashed)  the spine is  in perfect condition  and doesn’t  even have the usual   ‘ flaky ’  laminate,   all the text is  clear.    The sleeve features visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down.  When the sleeve is opened it is very white, clean and tidy.    On the rear of the sleeve at the top of the opening edge there  is a small  5mm  ‘ nick ’    there is also a scratch   to the  laminate  100mm  but this doesn’t really notice.    There are NO  stains or Pen writing on the sleeve.     A very clean and white sleeve that’s been  well preserved for its age.

THE INNER SLEEVES: are the two original black inners and have NOT been  replaced.   One sleeve is in very good condition++, with NO   rubbing  edge wear or tears.  The second sleeve is in very good+  condition, two of the sides   have  some rubbing edge wear  and some light creases. 

THE POSTER: is in near excellent condition,  there is virtually NO wear to the folds,  there is  NO  Pen writing, sellotape residue,  pin hole damage or blue tack residue.  The poster seems to be made from  a much thicker paper.

THE PHOTOS: are in excellent condition, they are made from the original thick card.   The rear of the photos are fresh and white with NO sellotape residue,  pin hole damage or Blue tack residue etc.

THE VINYL:  record one is in excellent condition, record two, side three  is in excellent condition  and side four is in near excellent condition.  The two records are made of the original  ‘ thick and heavy ’ vinyl and are very dark and  shiny.  

The matrix nos. are:     XEX   709 - 1,  XEX  710 - 1,   XEX  711 - 1  and  XEX   712 - 1.    

The Mother/Stampers are:   ‘ 4    G L ’,   ‘ 3    A  H ’,   ‘ 7    G D L ’  and    ‘  2   H  R ’.   

THE AUDIO:  record one is  excellent,  record two  is near excellent,   although   on side three I did hear some   light   ‘ ticks ’  on the last minute of the song   ‘ Long, Long, Long ’   and on side four  I did hear some crackles on the first minute of play  on the song  ‘ Revolution 1 ’.    Both the records lay flat on the turntable and play  well with NO sticking or jumps of the needle.

THE LABELS:  are all in excellent condition,  the labels feature the original DARK green Apple colours.     All the labels show    the text   ‘Sold in the UK’ etc,  the George and Ringo songs are listed as  ‘Apple Publishing’.
