BEATLES UK - WITH THE BEATLES ORIGINAL MONO.

1963 PMC 1206 -  YELLOW AND BLACK PARLOPHONE LABEL.

A UK press album in 100% original condition. Featuring a very early  ‘Dark and Grainy’  front sleeve photo shot, now thought to have been a misprint,  making  the group look as if they are wearing make up !.  This sleeve photo was soon changed to  a much lighter photo.

CONDITION:

MAIN SLEEVE:  is in near excellent condition, housed in the correct early front laminated sleeve, with a large black ‘solid’  Mono on the front.  It features a tri flipback design to the rear.  The spine and the flipbacks are in near excellent condition, this is an excellent sleeve for its age and shows only light handling.  The spine  is  very good and all the text is 100% clear. The unlaminated rear of the sleeve is very clean and white for its age, there is  NO  Biro writing,  tears or stains,   a very original untouched sleeve.  The sleeve features the incorrect spelling of ‘GOTTA’, for the track, ‘You really GOT a hold on me’.  There is a small amount of laminate loss to the front top right corner.  

INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original polylined  Emitex sleeve, it is clean and white for its age.   A previous owner has written the albums title on the sleeve in blue Biro and also the albums song listing.   Also, as  an interesting  piece of  history of this  album, there is a date written on the sleeve,   ‘ 9th  December 1963 ’.

VINYL:  on side One is in excellent condition, on side Two it is in near excellent condition,  the vinyl  is of the period sixties ‘thick, heavy’ type,   it is dark and has a high gloss.  The Matrix nos. are:   XEX 447 – 1N   and   XEX 448 – 1N,   the Mother/Stampers are:    ‘ 3   O G ’ and  ‘ 3   L G ’.

AUDIO:  is near excellent,   it plays really well all the way through,  it lays flat on the turntable and plays with NO jumps or skips.  It plays with a terrific powerful period Mono sound.

THE LABELS:  are  in excellent condition,  there is a ‘KT’ embossed on side One of the label.   As mentioned the label says  ‘ You really got a hold on me’  while the sleeve says   ‘GOTTA’  hold on me,  these mistakes were soon to be corrected !

Unfortunately as you will see from my feedback,   I have received One negative feedback recently.   This is due to the fact that I followed Ebay policy and reported  an Ebay member for non payment and in turn I have received this feedback !, while this Ebay member carries on trading unaffected !,    I am disgusted that Ebay has let this happen !

To fairly grade the condition of the record, I am using the official grading system from the Record Collector Magazine.

Grading System

The seven standard condition categories and a description of what each one means are listed below:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
