BEATLES UK – White Album, Racoon mis press & 1 G, & spacer, original numbered stereo LP.

1968 PCS 7067/7068 -  Apple record labels.

A UK first pressing, top loading stereo copy with a unique serial number of  ‘ No. 0364883 ’.

A quite unique record set, to feature a ‘1 G’ mother / stamper on the same record that features a ‘Racoon’ mis press, featuring:

1. on side two of the record label it features the spelling mistake of ‘Racoon’ !, as it has been incorrectly spelt with one ‘c’ !, this was soon spotted by EMI and corrected but some records with this mis pressed label did make it out of EMI and into the shops,

2. side one of the record has the very earliest ‘mother /stampers’ you can have, it is ‘ 1 G ’ !,

3. side three of the record also has a very early mother / stamper, it is ‘ 1 G P ’,

4. side four on the record label does not have the text ‘an EMI recording’, but this text is present on sides one, two and three of the record labels !,

5. the record set comes with its original rare photo paper spacer,

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition, the double album gatefold sleeve has an excellent glossy laminate. The sleeve has remained an excellent fresh white in colour. The sleeve for it’s age has remained relatively free from any indentations. On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL Number of No. 0364883, this number appears clear and bold. On the rear there is a small ‘Stereo’ logo printed proving this to be a genuine STEREO sleeve. The spine is in near excellent condition and has remained a fresh clean white and all the text on the spine can be read. The sleeve features two visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down. When the sleeve is opened it is very glossy, white, fresh and clean. The rear of the sleeve is also very clean, white and glossy. There are NO splits, tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE INNER SLEEVES: are the original black APPLE inner sleeves and have not been replaced. One sleeve is in near excellent condition with just some slight ‘fraying’ and some small ‘nicks’ to the rear opening edge. There are NO splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue. The other sleeve is also in near excellent condition, there is a split to the bottom edge with some ‘fraying’ and some small ‘nicks’ to the rear opening edge. Theres NO tears, stickers or sticker residue. Two well preserved and relatively crease free sleeves.

THE POSTER: the original poster is in near excellent condition. An excellent fresh, white poster for its age. Theres NO sellotape / residue, pin holes, blue tack residue, stickers or sticker residue. There is a slight tear, 20mm to one of the folds at the edge and some age related marks here and there.

THE PHOTOS: the original four photos are in excellent condition. The photos are made from the original thick card. The rear of the photos have remained a good clean white. Theres NO pen writing, pin hole damage, tears, sellotape, blue tack damage. The original paper photo spacer is present and is in very good++ condition, it has remained clean for its age. There are some light age related marks to it here and there and some creasing to one corner and a small ‘nick’ and a 15mm tear.

THE RECORDS: side one is in very good+ condition, side two is in near very good condition, side three is in very good+ condition and side four is in excellent++ condition. The records are made of the original 1960s ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl. The records have remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix nos. are:  YEX   709 – 1,  YEX  710 - 1, YEX  711 - 1 and  YEX 712 - 1.

The mother / stampers are: the earliest you can get: ‘ 1 G ’, and ‘  4 G D A  ’, also very early ‘  1 G P  ’ and  ‘ 4  H  G ’.

THE AUDIO: side one and two play near excellent, each side plays with relatively quiet grooves, but I did hear some light ‘ticks’, here an there. Sides three and four play excellent with excellent quiet grooves. Each record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent+ condition, side two is in excellent condition, side three is in near MINT condition and side four is in excellent++  condition. As this is a very first press, two of the labels feature the original DARK green apple colours. All the labels show the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc. Each label is free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
