CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition. The original UK 1969 first issue double album ‘gate fold’ sleeve is fully laminated. On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual serial number of, ‘0315651’, this number appears clear and bold. To the rear, top right there is the word ‘stereo’ printed, proving this to be a genuine ‘stereo’ sleeve. The spine is in very good+ condition, it has some of the usual ‘flaky’ laminate but has remained clean for its age and all the text on the spine is readable. The sleeve features two visible ‘flip backs’, ie, ‘fold over’ edges, seen when the sleeve is opened. When the sleeve is opened it is clean and glossy. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. The sleeve has some age related discolouring to it. There is some creasing to the front and rear, to the top of the spine corners and to the rear bottom, right corner. There is a slight ‘water’ mark to each of the bottom corners. There is a small ‘nick’ to the front opening edge, otherwise the four opening edges have remained clean.
THE INNER SLEEVES: the two inner sleeves are the original black ‘Apple’ inner sleeves and have not been replaced. One sleeve is in near very good condition, the two opening edges have remained very clean. It has two 40mm tears around the ‘die cut hole’ and a very slight, split to one side edge. The other sleeve is in very good condition, it has NO splits to the edges. It has a 20mm, a 10mm and a 5mm tear around the ‘die cut hole’ and a 10mm tear and some small ‘nicks’ to the front opening edge and a 15mm and a 10mm tear and some small ‘nicks’ to the rear opening edge.
THE PHOTOS: the four photos are not present.
THE POSTER: the poster is not present.
THE RECORDS: each side is in very good++ condition. The two records are made of the original 1960s, ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl. The records have remained dark and glossy.
The matrix are: YEX 709 - 1, YEX 710 - 1, YEX 711 - 1 and YEX 712 – 1,
The mother / stampers are: ‘4 OH’, ‘1 HE ’, ‘2 GOP’ and ‘2 GAR’,
THE AUDIO: sides one, two and three play very good+, they play with some ‘crackle’. Side four plays very good++, it plays with some light ‘ticks’ and some light ‘crackle’ heard here and there. The crackle heard maybe reduced if the records are given a professional clean as the condition of the playing surfaces are very good. Each side plays with a full, powerful period stereo sound. Each record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: side one is in very good++ condition. Sides two, three and four are in excellent condition. Each label is free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
