Description
BEATLES UK – White Album, original first issue UK numbered Stereo LP.
PCS 7067/7068 – original 1968 Apple record labels.
A UK very first issue, top loading sleeve, stereo copy with an individual serial number of ‘No. 0344982’, featuring:
1. record one, side one and two have the same, very early mother / stampers, they are: ‘1 L’,
2, side four of the record label have the letters ‘KT’ embossed onto it,
3, sides one and two of the record labels do not have the text ‘An EMI recording’, but oddly labels three and four, this text is present !.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the double album gatefold is fully laminated. For its age the laminate has remained relativity free from any ‘scuffs’ and indentations. On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL number of No. 0344982. To the rear there is a small printed ‘Stereo’ logo, proving this to be a genuine STEREO sleeve. The four top opening edges are in excellent condition and have remained clean and sharp. The spine is in very good++ condition and most of the text is readable. When the gatefold sleeve is opened it is clean with an excellent glossy laminate. The sleeve features two visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is some slight age related discolouring around the edges of the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVES: the original inner sleeves are not present, the record set comes with two ‘Use Emitex’ inner sleeves, these are in good condition.
THE POSTER: the original poster is not present.
THE PHOTOS: the four original photos are not present.
THE RECORDS: side one and two is in good++ condition, side three is in good condition, side four is in good++ condition. The records are made of the original period 1960s ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl and have remained dark and glossy.
The matrix are: YEX 709 – 1, YEX 710 - 1, YEX 711 - 1 and YEX 712 - 1.
The mother / stampers are: ‘1 L’ and ‘1 L’ very early and unusually the same !, and ‘ 3 P T ’ and ‘ 6 M A ’.
THE AUDIO: side one and two plays good++ with some light crackle and some ‘ticks’ and ‘pops’ to be heard, here and there. Side three, is untested, I would imagine it would play with some crackle, ‘ticks’ and ‘pops’ to be heard here and there. Side four plays good++ with some light crackle and some ‘ticks’ and ‘pops’ to be heard, here and there. Each record lays flat on the turntable. The records play with a full, loud period stereo sound.
THE LABELS: each of the labels are in very good++ condition.
Each label has some old sticker residue. As this is a very first issue, two of the labels feature the original DARK green Apple colours. All the labels show the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc ’. Each label is free from any pen writing or any other stickers etc.
