BEATLES UK – White Album, original numbered Stereo sleeve LP.

1968 PCS 7067/7068 -  apple record labels.

A UK first pressing top loading Stereo copy with a unique serial number of  ‘ No. 0569960 ’ and featuring:

1. labels one, two and four have the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc printed in a ‘slimmer’ font, (lettering style) but on label three this text is printed in the regular ‘wider’ font style !.

2. label two has a more pronounced ‘brown apple core’ detail.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the double album gatefold sleeve has an excellent, unscuffed glossy laminate. The sleeve has remained an excellent fresh white in colour. On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL Number of No. 0569960, this number appears clear and bold. To the rear there is the word ‘Stereo’ printed, proving this to be a genuine STEREO sleeve. The spine is in excellent condition, one of the cleanest spines I have seen for this sleeve, all the text is crystal clear to read. The sleeve features two visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down. When the sleeve is opened it is very glossy, white, clean and tidy. The rear of the sleeve is excellent, very white, clean and glossy. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. The condition of the sleeve would have been graded higher but there are couple of corner knocks and two curious, what can only be described as ‘manufacturing faults’, as they seem to show some light creasing to the card, not the laminate, just the card, something that must have happened during manufacture !

THE INNER SLEEVES: the two original Apple black inner sleeves are present, one is in near excellent condition, with NO tears, splits, there is a small 10mm tear around the ‘die cut hole’. The other sleeve is in excellent condition with NO tears, splits, there is some creasing. The sleeves are free from any repairs, sellotape, stickers or sticker reside.

THE POSTER: the original poster is in excellent+ condition. Theres NO pen writing, sellotape / residue, pin holes, blue tack residue, stickers or sticker residue. The poster has some light age related marks on the rear. There are NO tears or splits.

THE PHOTOS: the original four photos are in excellent condition. The photos are made from the original thick card. Theres NO pen writing, pin hole damage, sellotape residue, blue tack residue, stickers or sticker residue. Each of the photos to the tops have some light age related marks.

THE VINYL: sides one and two are in near excellent condition, side three is in very good++ condition and side four is in excellent condition. The records are made of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl, they have remained very dark and glossy, super clean condition, clearly they have not seen much play.

The matrix nos. are:   YEX   709 – 1,  YEX  710 - 1, YEX  711 - 1 and  YEX 712 - 1.

The Mother / Stampers are:   ‘ 2  H ’,  ‘1  L A ’,   ‘ 4  T R  ’ and  ‘5 G M A’.

THE AUDIO: is very good, the records play well with some crackle. The audio would be improved if the discs were given a professional clean, as the condition of the playing surfaces are so good. Each of the records lay flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: each of the labels are in excellent condition. As this is a very first press two of the labels feature the original DARK green Apple colours. All the labels show the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc, the George and Ringo songs are listed as ‘Apple Publishing’. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
