Description
BEATLES UK – With the Beatles, Dominiom mis press stereo label.
1963 PCS 3045 - original 1960s yellow and black Parlophone labels.
An early UK stereo copy in original condition, featuring:
1. a mis pressed label on side two, as the publishing credit for the track ‘Money’ has been mis pressed as ‘Dominiom.’ !, this is spelt correctly else where on the labels as ‘Dominion’ !. This error was soon spotted and corrected, so not many copies made it into the shops,
2. hard to find stereo variation labels, as the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc is not present on the labels. These labels were the last of the yellow and black stereo Parlophone before the labels were changed to the black and silver Parlophone labels,
3. a more unusual misaligned, small size ‘stereo’ logo printed on the front of the sleeve,
4. these small size stereo logos are usually printed to the top, far right, but on this sleeve the logo has been printed more over to the left !,
5. the record label on side one has the letters ‘K T’ embossed onto it, this is unusual as the ‘KT’ reference was no longer used after January 1969, but this copy would have been pressed in mid 1969 !,
6. the rear of the sleeve has the spelling, ‘You really ‘gotta’ hold on me’, but on the record label it is spelt ‘got a’ !, this is more unusual as by the time these later flipback sleeves were printed most had been corrected to the corrected ‘got a’ spelling !.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good condition and all the text on the spine is readable. The rear the sleeve features the period 1960s, tri flipback design. There are NO tears or splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. A very solid and original sleeve. On the rear of the sleeve, to the top right, there is a small area of pencil and black pen and some small areas of what appears to be ‘tea’ stains.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original period EMI red and white advertising sleeve. An excellent and well preserved inner sleeve that has remained a good fresh white in colour and relatively uncreased. The two opening edges have remained clean and unworn. There are NO tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. There is a slight split to one of the side edges and some age related marks one side, top right.
THE RECORD: is in very good++ condition. The record is made from the original period 1960s ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy.
The matrix are: YEX 110 – 2 and YEX 111 – 2,
The mother / stampers are: ‘ 2 M O ’ and ‘ 3 M D ’.
THE AUDIO: side one is excellent, it plays with relatively quiet grooves. Side two also plays excellent with with relatively quiet grooves although I did hear some light ticks towards the end of track two. The record lays flat on the turntable. It plays with a full powerful, period stereo sound.
THE LABELS: side one is in excellent condition. Side two is in near excellent condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
