BEATLES UK – With the Beatles, dark & grainy ‘E J Day’ sleeve & 1/1 matrix.
PMC 1206 – original mono black and yellow Parlophone labels.
A UK album in original condition, featuring:
1. a hard to find variant of this sleeve, made by ‘E J Day’. The sleeve features a very dark and ‘grainy’ image. The image is so dark that the shadow side of the faces are in complete darkness. Attempts were soon made by the printers to replace this very early variant image with a much light and clearer image,
2. the rear of the sleeve has the earlier uncorrected ‘gotta’ spelling, but on the record label it has the ‘corrected’, ‘got a’ spelling for the track, ‘You really got a hold on me’,
3. the record features the very first mono matrix of, 1/1.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition, the front has an excellent, shop fresh, crease free glossy laminate. There are NO thumb nail creases to the front laminate. The spine is in excellent++ condition and has remained an excellent fresh white in colour and all the text on the spine is clear to read. The two opening edges are in excellent++ condition and have remained clean and sharp. The four corners of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipback design. These more unusual ‘E J Day’ flipbacks are thinner and are known to ‘snag’ and tear, but on this copy the flipbacks are all perfect, with no snagging, tears or ‘lifting’. The rear for the sleeve has remained an excellent fresh, clean white. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. To the rear of the sleeve there are some slight age related marks, here and there.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean and unworn. An excellent fresh, clean, well preserved sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE RECORD: is in near excellent condition. The record has remained very dark and glossy and is made from the quality period 1960s, thick, heavy vinyl.
The matrix are: XEX 447 – 1 N and XEX 448 – 1 N,
The mother / stampers are: ‘2 G O G’ and ‘5 G R R’.
THE AUDIO: is excellent, it plays with an excellent clear, full period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: side one is in excellent+ condition, side two is in excellent condition. There are the letters ‘KT’ embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The songs publishing credit for the track ‘Money’ is ‘Dominion / Belinda’. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
