 3rd STATE WITH THE PEELED TRUNK COVER RARE!

This is an original 1966 3rd State STEREO Beatles Butcher Cover, “Yesterday and Today” Album with the peeled Trunk Cover slick. This is the rarer Scranton, Pennsylvania purple banner Stereo edition. This one is nice because there aren't any significant seam splits and the jacket is in Very Good condition with only very minor wear. Stereo Butcher Covers are ten times rarer than mono covers because in 1966 "stereo" was a fairly new process and most albums released were in “mono”. This makes a stereo cover twice as valuable as a mono.

This peel was professionally done by “Gary M Hein”, the top, dealer and authority on rare Beatles records and memorabilia in the United States. Gary Hein, of Hein’s Rare Collectibles, has been dealing in Rare Beatles collectables and records in a serious way for over 33 years. His web site is beatles4medotcom.

Overall, this cover is used but in nice condition. The glue residue on the cover has turned a light brownish color. There is some tape on the lower bottom of the back. I don’t know why someone did that as the seam is not split. It comes complete with the disc and original album liner.  The disc grades VERY GOOD, with surface scratches. I have not play tested this record. Please examine the photos carefully for the condition.

This album cover also comes with the peeled trunk slick in the condition as shown with no wrinkles or tears etc. It has been laminated over in plastic to preserve it. Please remember, this is a used album being sold in the condition as shown,  and this is a peeled version, not a “first state” so any minor imperfections are the result of the gluing process at the Capitol factory or the removal process. The horizontal glue streaks across the front cover occurred as a result of the paste over process back in 1966 by Capitol Records. There is some wear to the seams but none splits go all the way through.
