WHITE ALBUM ~ 1968 ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING
#1310684 ~ APPLE RECORDS ~ SWBO-101 ~ STEREO
These sets are becoming extremely rare in this or any condition, especially complete sets like this one. This the True First Pressing which was stopped on the printing press by John Lennon as there were titles that were not as they were supposed to be, only a million (at most) were printed before it was caught and changed at great expense. The 5 typos that were repaired are BUNGALOW BILL to The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill....OBLADI-OBLADA to Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, REVOLUTION No. 1 to Revolution 1, REVOLUTION No. 9 to Revolution 9 and GOODNIGHT to Good Night. For years sellers have been trying to say that ROCKY RACOON was also a rare typo, but the fact is that ALL White Albums have that unrepaired typo.
VINYL is VISUALLY GRADED as EXCELLENT and PLAY GRADED as VERY GOOD ++ to EXCELLENT as there is paper scuffing overall and a light amount of ultra fine hairlines. They both play very nicely with a bit of crackle here and there but no big pops, no jumps or repeaters. A very respectable set.
JACKET Grades as NEAR MINT minus A beautiful jacket! No ring wear, No seam splits, No stains or writing and the gate is strong with a fully legible title seam. As we all know, these jackets are typically a mess after 40 years of handling and such....this is a real amazing find!
