20+ year record collector with some cool new stuff coming soon on eBay! Please check my other auctions or sale listings!
You are bidding on one of the rarest albums out there. It is 2 LP set by The Beatles called "The Beatles" (AKA "The White Album") on Apple Records.
THIS IS THE EXTREMELY RARE COMPRESSED VERSION!!!
ONLY 2 OR 3 COPIES KNOWN TO OFFICIALLY EXIST!!!
Not many were pressed with this version!
THE STORY:
What happened was, this first version was mastered using a certain Limiter, which ended up compressing the sound. As a result, the lows and highs (bass and treble) were increased. George Harrison heard a copy of this master at the Capitol Records building in California, thought it sounded terrible and insisted that all 33 lacquers be destroyed immediately. However, a few had already been shipped out and sold! THIS IS ONE OF THEM!
THE MATRIX (OR DEAD WAX) NUMBERS TO LOOK FOR READ A PREFIX OF "A" OR "B" WITH ANY NUMBERS FROM "1" THROUGH "33" RIGHT NEXT TO IT (ex. "A26").
THE MATRIX (OR DEAD WAX) NUMBERS FOR THIS COPY ARE:
SIDE 1 - SWBO 1-101-A28 #3
SIDE 2 - SWBO-2-101-B29 (crossed out "28 #4" and corrected with "#29")
SIDE 3 - SWBO-3-101-A28
SIDE 4 - SWBO-4-101-B29
ALL FOUR SIDES ALSO HAVE THE "IAM" TRIANGLE LOGO.
I HAVE INCLUDED PHOTOS OF THE MATRIX NUMBERS. SORRY IF SOME ARE A BIT BLURRY.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE MIXES ON THIS ALBUM ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE "CORRECTED" REMASTERED HARRISON VERSION WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE. IT IS THE MASTERING THAT IS DIFFERENT, THEREFORE THE DIFFERENCES ARE SUBTLE. APPARENTLY TWO OF THE BEST SONGS TO TEST THE DIFFERENCES ARE "HELTER SKELTER" AND "LONG LONG LONG" DUE TO THEIR RISE AND FALL IN VOLUME. "REVOLUTION NO. 9" IS ALSO A GOOD ONE DEMONSTRATE IT WITH.
SIDE 1'S LABEL READS “OBLADI OBLADA” INSTEAD OF “OB-LA-DI, OB-LA-DA” AND "BUNGALOW BILL", INSTEAD OF "THE CONTINUING STORY OF BUNGALOW BILL". SIDE 4'S LABEL READS "REVOLUTION NO. 1" AND "REVOLUTION NO. 9", INSTEAD OF "REVOLUTION 1" AND "REVOLUTION 9", AND “GOODNIGHT” INSTEAD OF “GOOD NIGHT”. SIDE 2’S “ROCKY RACCOON” WAS ALWAYS MISPELLED “…RACOON” UNTIL THE 80’S, SO I DON’T REALLY COUNT THAT ONE, BUT I AM MENTIONING IT NONETHELESS.
NUMBER ON FRONT OF COVER IS "A1392770"
(There is no significance between the cover and the records. I was told by two known experts that the covers and records were not pressed at the same time. When the White Album first came out, they pressed 3,000,000 covers in different variations (ie the "A", "No." and dot prefixes before the number) which were shipped to different plants around the country. They were pressed before
the records in preparation. When the boxes got stacked at the plants, they did not go by Box 1, Box 2, Box 3, etc. Due to deadline and demand, they would just randomly grab a box of covers and use what they had at random. If they were grabbing from the top of the pile, chances are the cover numbers were higher since the lower numbered LP's were probably on the bottom. That is why you can still find higher numbered covers with the 6 errors records in them. So, with first pressings, the number on the front covers were mostly irrelevant regarding when the records were pressed. I PERSONALLY have a White Album with a FRONT COVER number in the 7,000's and I believe it has the corrected spellings of the 6 songs. And it was from the original owner too!).
I HAVE HAD VERIFICATION ON THIS COMPRESSED WHITE ALBUM IN-PERSON BY ONE OF THE LEADING EXPERTS IN BEATLES COLLECTING. HIS NAME WILL BE REVEALED ONLY UPON E-MAIL REQUEST AND WILL NOT BE POSTED TO THIS AUCTION.
Please note that I proudly use the latest Perry Cox Beatles price guide for grading and reference.

NOTE:
The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Near Mint, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.
The cover I would rate as Good+ to VG Minus condition. Cover has much wear. Someone wrote their name in pink marker under the embossed title. Front, top-left has a tiny smiley face written in pen. Front cover's top has a 4 1/4" split. Front cover also has a 1 1/4" split on the bottom-right. Back cover, top-left has a 4 1/2". All four corners have dings. Spine is actually intact with some staining. Has original poster which has a tear on one of the top folds. No four photos. You could replace this with a better cover but I don't do that. This was the cover that the records came in.
I would rate both records condition as VG Minus to VG+. That is a real conservative grade. Records really play nice on my player! There are sections with surface noise, but it is infrequent. There are some deep scratches and a few surface scratches (large and small) that are not too bad. This did NOT skip on my player! Labels have some photo glare on pictures. They are real clean! The records are not Mint, but .....THIS IS RARE IN ANY CONDITION!!!
DON'T MISS OUT ON OWNING A UNIQUE PIECE OF BEATLES RECORDED HISTORY!!!
Makes a great gift for any Beatles collector, LP fan or yourself!
See my other auctions for more funky original records, cassettes, reel to reels, CD’s, and 8 tracks!
