Description
Here's what this is: This is a beautiful copy of the 1982 UK Apple repressing (PMC 7068) of the original mono mix of the Beatles "White Album." Done from the original mono masters and all analog this sounds exact when compared to my 1968 UK mono original copy. The only differences are in the packaging: the gatefold sleeve is NOT top loading; "The Beatles" is embossed on the front but there is no serial number (the text is white on white and all attempts to photograph it failed); it did NOT come with black inner sleeves. It did come with the 4 photos and the poster, all included. The poster is the UK version that does NOT airbrush out Sir Paul's pubic hair in the small inset photo (unlike the US version).
Magnificent album that sounds startlingly different in the original mono; this 1982 press is also very rare and this copy is strong M-/M- cover/discs (and inserts). The discs have no marks, scuffs, etc., and have been played perhaps a total of 5 times on a very good table (VPI-19). The poster and photos have never been displayed or hung on a wall and have no marks, wrinkles, tears, etc.
