General Description:

A rare opportunity to acquire a sought after example of The Beatles White Album from 1968. This is an authentic original complete with the "top-opening" Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve, black inners, the full size poster with lyrics and 4 colour prints. The prints are in superb condition and have been well looked after. The poster is fully in tact, although clearly it has been used.

The labels (sides 1 and 3) are the dark green apple labels and all 4 labels are in exceptional, clean condition with the "SOLD IN THE UK SUBJECT TO..." text.

The black inner sleeves are both in as new condition. The outer Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold sleeve is the top-opener with flipbacks on the left and right edges. The outer sleeve has no alien marks, stickers or writing although it has some age yellowing towards and on the spine as well as some faint dark ringwear. The spine is also a bit frayed. Other than this it is relatively smooth and clean.

Audio Quality: EX+ Super duper paratrooper Outer Sleeve: VG Garrod & Lofthouse Gatefold Top-opening with Flipbacks. Spine is a bit frayed with some yellowing. Inner Sleeve: NM Black inners in near perfect condition. The laminated flipback top opening sleeve by Garrod & Lofthouse. The 4 colour prints are in superb condition. The lyric poster is in tact but has been used.

Front and back is smooth and realtively clean with some storage wear, mild staining and some faint dark ringwear. The spine is frayed with some yellowing. Very nice condition original black inners. A deep glossy shine to the vinyl which has no feelable scratches. Some faint whispy finger scuffs and sleeve withdrawal hairlines. back to top

GRADING

Our vinyl grading system is based on the criteria used by 'Record Collector' and the 'Record Collector - Rare Record Price Guide'. We believe this system is widely considered to be the Industry Standard. Please note we have used our own grading abbreviations (in parenthesis) and our own variations (in between) where it becomes subjective and difficult to distinguish between two grading categories. Please also note that most of our vinyl is generally (unless otherwise stated) VG or above. Grade Record Sleeve Mint (M) The record is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition Near Mint (NM) or EX+ In between (difficult to distinguish)   Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing VG + In between (difficult to distinguish)   Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable Good + In between (difficult to distinguish)   Good (G) The record has been played so much that sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. Fair The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained, and/or defaced Poor The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.  back to top

SHIPPING & PACKAGING

Packaging: Please be assured that your vinyl record(s) will be packed securely with at least one stiffener and placed within a heavy duty mailer for extra protection. Where possible your record will also benefit from a quality poly sleeve. Shipping: Please note that we do not believe in ripping people off for postage. We aim to be as fair as possible by undercharging rather than overcharging. However, in the unusual event of us getting it wrong and you feel you've been overcharged for postage on an item, please let us know so we can compensate you by refunding any difference.
