The Beatles ~ The White Album PMC 7067/7068, an original UK low numbered copy. Number 0006866 (MONO) Beautiful Apple label Beatles LP in very worn but playable condition & cover intact. I believe the stampers on side one indicate this is a first Mother pressing. 1st Pressing Matrixes/Stampers; Matrix Side A XEX 709-1 Matrix Side B XEX 710-1 Matrix Side C XEX 711-1 Matrix Side D XEX 712-1 Stamper Side A (9/3 o'c) 1/P Stamper Side B (9/3 o'c) 1/O Stamper Side C (9/3 o'c) 7/GDL Stamper Side D (9/3 o'c) 2/HG There is no, "an EMI recording" written anywhere on either vinyl or cover. Which if memory serves was a copyright infringment & amended after the initial couple of days pressings. Vinyl Disc One; Heavily used & in overall very well worn condition. It plays through with no sticking but a fair bit of surface noise. It has many light/medium marks scratches & scuffs. Due to the brilliant quality pressing it does still sound fantastic & has been often played by me over the years & I have become used to the surface noise pops & crackles that accompany this wonderful recording! The labels are unwritten & the overall sheen is dull. Vinyl Side two; Again heavily used & in overall very well worn (poor) condition. It plays through with no sticking but a fair bit of surface noise pops & crackles. It has many light/medium marks scratches & scuffs. Due to the brilliant pressing it does still sound fantastic even with the pops & crackles. A lesser piece of vinyl would not have endured this much wear & tear. The labels are unwritten & the overall sheen is dull. Cover; Embossed & low numbered sleeve is intact with no rips or tears perhaps Good to VG- spine readable but laminate on spine worn due to wear over the years Laminated gatefold cover shows significant use, a few scuffs & marks to corners & edges. There is some yellow staining from time & age. Perfectly sound & useable cover. Inserts; Missing & the sleeves are not original. These were very used when I purchase the LP, & replaced with similar non original black inners. Overall; the album plays better than it looks due to the very heavy duty vinyl used in very early pressings. It does play through & I am used to the pops & crackles but please be aware there is surface noise & there will be pops & crackles. I have never shied from playing it on my expensive set up & have enjoyed the album greatly over the years I have owned it (20 or so!) It is a much loved, prestigiously collectable LP of the Beatles at their very best I feel, it is a very worn LP too. Nevertheless I will very be sad to see this go.
