Description
On offer here is a UK original 1968 Mono 1st pressing of the White Album by THE BEATLES on the dark green Apple label with the ‘Sold In UK’ label text. It comes in an original top opening rare low numbered cover, No.0043167.
Please note that this copy is only in FAIR condition but the low number of the cover makes this a very collectable copy. However, PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NEAR MINT, EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD CONDITION COPY OF THE SLEEVE OR RECORDS.
The records are also only in GOOD condition visually. Matrix numbers are Side 1 – XEX 709-1, Side 2 – XEX 710-1, Side 3 – XEX 711-1 & Side 4 – XEX 712-1. Mothers & stampers are: Side 1 – GRR 4, Side 2 – TR 7, Side 3 – GDG 5 & Side 4 – G 1. Though both records have plenty of marks and scratches, they played through without jumps or sticks on my turntable and both LPs play MUCH better than they look and, as usual with these thick vinyl 1st pressings, still sound really good, though with some background noise and clicks.
The Mono cover (without the Stereo stamp on the rear) is very strictly graded in FAIR condition. There is some of the usual general creasing & wear, and some bad spine damage at the top. The bottom of the spine has some water marks visible, also visible in the middle of the gatefold cover at the bottom. There is faint evidence of a name written in ink on the front cover, top right.
There are no photos, poster or original black inner sleeves included. All 4 labels have writing on them and Sides 2 and 3 have label tears. Side 4 has the KT tax code on the label. Sides 3 & 4 have “An EMI Recording” on the labels.
I am offering FREE postage in the UK on this very rare item! Overseas postage will be £10 for International Signed For. All records are sent in brand new professional mailers and well packaged with card stiffeners. The record will be placed in a brand new protective polythene cover and the vinyl records will be placed in separate brand new polythene lined inner sleeves.
Due to problems with packages disappearing in the post, I can no longer accept bids from buyers in Russia or Greece.
